Sharon Marley AnnounceMent

DEBUT ALBUM “FIREBIRD” & new single "ISLAND"

Reggae singer-songwriter and 3X Grammy Award-winner, Sharon Marley, daughter of the legendary, Bob, and Rita Marley, announces her highly anticipated debut album titled “Firebird,” slated for release on March 20, 2026, and the new single, “Island,” featuring Cedella Marley, and Rica Newell, on March 6, 2026.

The “Firebird” album is a tribute to Sharon’s roots and a celebration of resilience, rebirth, empowerment, and love. “Firebird” honors the Marley legacy while standing boldly in the present: a multi-generational collaboration, a celebration of feminine strength, and an uplifting

soundtrack for anyone rising from their own ashes.

The first single release from the “Firebird” LP is “Steppah” featuring the legendary, Big Youth. Driven by a heavy bass-and-drum driven reggae groove, “Steppah” evokes Jamaican music’s classic rub-a-dub dancehall era, a golden age that’s further brought to life in the music video directed by Sharon’s daughter, Donisha Prendergast.

Written by Sharon and co-produced by Ingemar Prendergast, the title track and second single release, “Firebird” is a deeply personal disclosure that effortlessly blends bubbling Jamaican reggae with gritty Delta blues, elevated by Mark McClairy’s blistering lead guitar.

Sharon reunites with her sister, Cedella Marley, and Rica Newell on the forthcoming single, “Island,” a roots-driven reggae anthem celebrating unity, womanhood, and love for Jamaica. Set against a resounding drum and bass driven reggae rhythm, Sharon whimsically recounts days of swimming, sipping roots wine and idyllic company (“only you deh wid mi ‘pon di island”). Cedella Marley, and Rica Newell, were key members of the group, Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers, alongside Ziggy, and Stephen Marley.

Streaming proceeds from the “Island” single will be donated to Humanity Ova Vanity (HOV) a Canadian-based, community-led organization focused on emergency response, housing stabilization, and long-term community resilience in underserved and disaster-affected communities.

Produced by Leroy Romans the “Firebird"album features eleven dynamic tracks fusing classic reggae rhythms, heartfelt storytelling, and the healing vibrations of 432 Hz. 432 Hz is an alternative musical tuning utilizing 432 cycles per second, instead of the modern standard of 440 Hz, with proponents claiming it aligns with nature, the universe's vibrations, and offers spiritual/healing benefits like relaxation and better health.

The “Firebird” album artwork is a hand-painted image of Sharon Marley created by famed visual artist and poet, Komi Olafimihan.

“This album is a spiritual gift from my mother to me. I’ve poured a lot of emotions into it, making it not just about music, but about my journey. Hopefully, sharing my experiences of healing, passion, and transformation will inspire others to tune into their gifts and embrace their purpose,” Sharon shared.

Each song encapsulates the essence of Sharon Marley's journey, paying homage to her parents legacy while carving her own unique path in the music industry.  From uplifting anthems to soulful gems, the “Firebird” album promises to resonate deeply with fans old and new.
